You cannot burn the DRM protected Awakening files to CD, even using Nero 7 Premium? Is there any way to do this? How about being able to listen to the files on an mp3 player?
Asalamu Alaikum, We've been made aware of the burning problem 2 days ago. We're currently working on solving it. We're expecting to get it resolved in few days inshaAllah.
Temoprarily, if you're prompted to unlock the media file again upon attempting to burn it, please do not unlock it or spend the credits. If you have done this once or twice already, we will refund the spent credits once the ability to burn is resolved.
We appreciate your patronage, and inshaAllah we'll resolve this very soon.
I will post an update here once resolved. If we can be of more help, please post or call us.
the burn problem has been fixed, tested by developers and myself.
The problem remains that the media files you've already unlocked cannot be burned. I'm working on a solution and will post it over the weekend inshaAllah.
We'll be contacting all that who purchased credits with an update.
As of now though, it is safe to spend credits to unlock files that you'll be able to burn. Shall you still have problems, please let us know right away.
to frustrated buyer: once you burn the files to CD, you can convert them to MP3 if you desire. Legal restrictions per Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 remain. More info here
We've confirmed that you can now burn the media files without being prompted to unlock it again.
All customers that have unlocked any files before 9/9/06 will recieve, on CDs, the same files but with the ability to be burned to CD. This will be at no additional cost to you.. we'll cover shipping.
It will take few days to process this solution for all customers.
In addition, for those who tried to burn an unlocked file and spent credits more than once on a given file, will get the unnecissarly spent credits back.

Dear Jannah, Salaam I have bought some more credits but they are not available when I try and unlock some more files. My account says they are delivered, how can I make sure my account is updated?
i purchased credits so i can download couple of nasheeds...when i open the download file the mesg pops up for media usuage rights acquistion...how it doesnt give any option to sign in to the a/c or credits..
it says cookies must be enabled..i have tried all that...but cant understand why it wont work....please someone help

Open the file with Windows Media Player. When it asks you to unlock the file, enter you username and password that you got in the email when you purchased the credits.
once you unlock the file, the you can burn it to CD.
this could be due to a corruption or problem with your Window Media Player. I'll send you a private email to run an automated test to help us analyze the problem for you inshaAllah. salam.

But ... Like everyone I have some trouble listening to the CD I've ordered ---> NOOR. I've downloaded the files correctly, I'm running Windows XP and I try to open the files in Windows Media Player. After I've installed Windows Media Audio 9 Codec the player is denying everything and forwards me to this message:
"You've encountered an error message C00D10D1 while using Windows Media Player. The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue. Codec is missing
Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio or video portion of the file) because the Windows Media Audio 9 Professional (162) codec is not installed on your computer.
The missing codec might be available to download from the Internet. To search for the Windows Media Audio 9 Professional (162) codec, see WMPlugins.com.
Hmm...Here I don't know what to do beacuse the codes is not allowed to be installed at XP :( Plz help!
try to install the linked packages below Make sure that on Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP that you have at least Windows Media Player 9 Series or later installed. If you have WMP9 or later installed and it doesn't work, reinstall the Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player. This should reinstall all Windows Media Codec's on your system. It's also a good idea to reinstall DirectX just after you install the Windows Media Codec's.
If this doesn't help, most probably, there is something broken in your Windows OS, or your Media Player.
The reason for this problem could be collection of things. Since every machine is different, it is hard to provide generic repair instruction. Please try the above, and let us whether it helps or not.
To convert to MP3, you need to do the following in order
1- burn the files to a CD. 2- rip the CD you just created to MP3.
the original protected file stays protected, and cannot be converted to MP3 directly. You can convert it to MP3 or any other format after you have burned it to a CD. I hope this helps. Let me know if you still need further help. salam.
Sorry if this is a stupid question but can I "burn" to a usb (instead of a cd)? If so, can u recommend a program.
Either way, I kind of think the info on your site should be a little clearer so technophobes like me understand what they will need to do to get the tracks to their mp3 players.
that's a good question. My answer is I do not know unfortunately. This requires knowledge in how the protection works with physical devices. We'd love to hear from you the result if you try.
I do realize that we can have better information on the site. Since this is rather new technology we're using, and with the limited resources, we had to prioritize what to make available first.
We are working on providing much better support and help guides, including videos inshaAllah on the entire process. This, we hope inshaAllah, to achieve by Ramadan.

Dear Brother in Islam Assalamo Alaikum As you know that our country Pakistan is very short in resources. Allah has given the people of this country the wealth of Eman and Islam. People of this country are religious and are much devoted to their faith. It is also a fact that seeking of knowledge is a sacred duty; it is obligatory on every Muslim, male and female. The first word revealed of the Qur’an was "Iqra" READ! Seek knowledge! Educate yourselves! Be educated. The first and most crucial obligation on us is to acquire knowledge and secondly to practice and preach this knowledge. No man becomes truly a Muslim without knowing the meaning of Islam, because he becomes a Muslim not through birth but through knowledge. Unless we come to know the basic and necessary teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (S) how can we believe in him, have faith in him, act according to what he taught? It is impossible for us to be a Muslim, and at the same time live in a state of ignorance. Ibn Mas’ud (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (S) said: The position of only two persons is enviable; the person whom Allah bestowed wealth empowering him to spend it in the way of righteousness, and the person whom Allah gave wisdom with which he adjudges and which he teaches to others. Because of the importance of knowledge, Allaah commanded His Messenger (S) to seek more of it. Allaah says (what means): "and say: `My Lord! Increase me in knowledge" [Quran, 20:114] Keeping in view the importance of knowledge and the problems of the people of the vicinity, I have established a Library named “ Maktaba Ibn Al Qayem” consisting books in Arabic, English , Urdu, Persian and other languages related to Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah. Rijal, Adab and other subjects . The main purpose of the Library is to educate Muslims of the true religion Islam and to purify their faith (Aqeedah). It is indeed a very difficult job and is not in the approach of a single person until and unless your cooperation is not gained. While due to less resources, we have the problem of providing Islamic Books for reading and studying. The books written by Muslim Scholars are very expensive and costly. It is therefore requested that either books related to Tafseer, Aqeedah, Hadith, Fiqh,Seerah, History, Rijal and other subjects in Arabic or English may kindly be provided to me on the following address for the aforementioned Library or cash for the purchase of books may kindly be sent to me so that I can purchase books here in Pakistan. salaam i bought noor album in 2007 n i've downloaded the file to my laptop.. i'd like to know how i can redownload the files because my laptop was stolen n i'm using a new computer now. thanks
in 2007 we were using a system that has been discontinued and all records are no longer available to us. The only way to get them again is to purchase the MP3s. For further personal help, please go to http://www.jannah.com/support/ and fill a support ticket.

What is the exact message you get?
Are you prompted to sing-in to your account before the error?
There are 2 possibilities
1- the files you downloaded got corrupted in the download process. In this case, re-download the files.
2- Your Windows media player needs to be updated. Please perform an update.
Please try the suggestions above and let us know what the outcome is.

In the meantime...please try the following:
- Do an update of your Windows Media Player.
- Delete the corrupted files.
- Reboot your machine

i'm using nero 7 and in can liste to this file on my computer
If the audio is owned by Ilm Quest, burning is not allowed, as is stated on the purchase and download page.
If the problem with audio files other than those of IlmQuest's, let me know which they are and I'll look into it inshaAllah.

Once you create a CD from the unlocked files, you can convert them to any format you desire, such as MP3, AAC (for iPods), etc

I've now several times tried to create a CD from the unlocked files but still I can not convert them to MP3...should it be done in special way?

I want to convert from the format I bought the files in (.wpl) to mp3. I have read above that I have to burn the file to a cd first.
The thing is that I don't have a cd-writer so I can't burn the files onto cd. Is there a way around this?
the file format we sell is wma. WPL is a playlist format, which is something you create with your windows media player.
unfortunately, the only way to convert to mp3 is as you read above.

you can 'rip' the CD using any of a long list of software available for free, such as winamp (www.winamp.com)
a search on google would give you lots of results for ripping CDs to MP3.
